Basic Corneal Structure
Cornea is transparent , Avascular and Watch glass like structure. It form the anterior one -sixth of the outer fibrous coat of eyeball.
Cornea is anterior surface of eye.

* Anterior Horizontal diameter - 11.50
* Anterior vertical diameter - 11.00
* Posterior diameter of cornea -11.5
* corneal thickness in center is about 0.52mm and its periphery- 0.7 mm
* Anterior curvature of cornea is about 7.8 mm
* postrior curvature of cornea is about 6.5 mm
* The central 5 mm part of cornea form powerful refractive surface
Corneal refractive power is about 45 D.
Cornea consist of five layer
1) Epithelium
2) Bowmans membrane
3) Stroma
4) Descement membrane
5) Endothelium
