Corneal Vascularisation
Normal cornea is clear, soft, transparent and avascular structure Except some small capillary from the periphery of cornea. but due to the corneal sensation or irritation there develop small capillary and it lead to cornea get vascularised.
Type of corneal vascularisation
- Superficial corneal vascularisation
- Deep corneal vascularisation
superficial corneal vascularisation
This type of corneal vascularisation Vessel present below the epithelium laye and continuty from the conjunctival vessel.
Deep corneal vascularisation
In this type corneal vascularisation vessels derived from the anterior ciliary artery and lies in the corneal stroma .
these vessle are strait not anastomus with each other.
Treatment
Treatment for corneal vascularisation is usually unsatisfactory.
Corticosteroid may have vasoconstrictive and suppresive effect on permiability of capilaries.
