World Sight Day- जागतिक दृष्टी दिन
World Sight Day is celebrated every year on the second Thursday of October. It is a global program aimed at raising awareness of blindness and visual impairment.
The theme this year is Take Care of Your Eyes to encourage people to take care of their eye health and raise awareness of blindness and vision impairment.
Eye health can affect not only vision but also our future where education is paramount. On the occasion of Drashti Day, the following should be taken care of for eye health in general.
• If there is a visual defect, get checked by a doctor and use the glasses of the given number regularly.
• After the examination by the doctor and the medicine suggested by him should be put into the eye, any medicine should not be used in the eye because it can be dangerous.
• Avoid rubbing your eyes because your hands are exposed to a lot of dirt and bacteria and every time you touch or rub your eyes, all these are easily transferred to your eyes.
• Practice this washing frequently as it helps to keep yourself away from infectious diseases which will prevent your eyes from coming in contact with eye glasses and contact lens infections.
• 20 20 20 rule should be followed while using computer
You should follow the twenty-twenty rule which is to look away from your computer monitor every twenty minutes and focus on an object twenty feet away and to prevent dry eyes.
• Get enough sleep
Like any other part of our body, our eyes also need care and rest, and that's when we sleep.
Protect your eyes from the sun.
Exposure to sunlight and UV rays increases the risk of age-related macular degeneration and can cause corneal edema or photokeratitis.
So you can use sunglasses to protect your eyes as well as UV protected glasses or contact lenses. The simplest is a hat or hats.
Maintain the proper level of water in the body which can prevent your eyes from drying out and eye irritation.
Exercise regularly
Regular exercise can prevent other diseases such as diabetes. Exercising for at least few minutes a week can reduce the risk of serious eye diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration.

Smoking can lead to age-related eye diseases like cataracts and cataracts.
Have a balanced diet
Beta carotene is rich in omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin C, and is essential for maintaining eye health. Include a variety of nutrient-rich foods in your diet.
• Maintain proper distance between computer monitor and room light. And keep it 20 degrees below eye level to save your eyes from strain as well as make sure your room has proper lighting.
• Women should use appropriate eye cosmetics that do not harm the eyes.
• Use eye drops only on doctor's advice Use eye drops that reduce allergies.
• Any daily worker should take proper eye safety precautions to ensure your eyes stay safe.
• If you are going swimming, wear goggles to prevent the non-chlorine water from getting into your eyes and opening your eyes. Meanwhile, dust in the eyes if you are working in the garden or working on a project at home.
• On World Sight Day, spread the word to as many people as possible, participate in social health and public welfare work, and love your eyes, take care of them.
