An important objective of the National Blindness and Vision Control Program is to reduce the number of blind people in the country. The objective of this program is mainly to reduce avoidable blindness and curable blindness among blind people and to create light in the lives of individuals.
Various programs are organized under the National Blindness Control Program to spread the awareness of the program to the public and through that program people are made aware about eye diseases and treatment, how to take care of eyes, eye donation.
